Another Honor for a WNY Hero

A barracks at the Naval Submarine Base in Kings Bay, Georgia has been named for Corporal Jason Dunham of Scio. The Allegany County native was assigned to the security force company at Kings Bay from 2001 until 2003.
Dunham was killed by a grenade blast in Iraq in April, 2004. He used his helmet and body to shield his fellow Marines from harm. He died of his injuries eight days later.
For his brave and selfless act, the Allegany County native was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor earlier this year.
The Marine's parents, Daniel and Debra Dunham were on hand for the dedication.
