The latest and greatest when I was in was a reel to reel sterio. Everyone had to have one. Almost no one did. Was no digital watches or any of that other stuff. How did we survive?

That's why I like the Sea Tales of our WW II Grandfathers. 110% guts, no GPS, no kevlar, no satcom.

Just got off the phone with my dad and he was telling me about when he was in the Army he remembers making payments on a portable AM radio from Woolworth’s. I remember as a little kid when he brought home a stereo that was about five or six feet long and when you opened it of you could play records or the AM radio it had speakers build right in to it. I remember many of Elvis records being played on that thing. I can only imagine how much a guy could get on ebay for one of those now ROFL!
