Drivers license

Good evening all! I have a question that I am having a hard time getting an answer to. It's nothing big, but it is very important to my son. He leaves for boot camp in about three weeks and he won't be able to attend drivers ed in that short of time. I have been told that you can get your drivers license while in the military. I know that won't be possible while he is at boot camp, but does anyone know the procedure he would take to apply once he is out of boot camp? Any information would be so greatly appreciated!

My son has been in now for over a year, he went with a NY permit, since arriving at Camp Lejeune he went to the DMV in North Carolina and took his test, he now has his license, the corps does't get them their license, he's a deisel mechanic but he needed his license to drive the military vehicles, so once your son is done with his MOS and stationed he can look into getting his license where he is.. at least that's what ours was told...good luck..
