Yesterday, while mixing in a friendly crowd of pro-troop suppporters in Portland, Oregon a Marine Mom approached me and asked me to post the following message:

To her son, serving in Kuwait/Iraq:

"Sgt. Chandelle Poole,

Son, I am so proud of you, so very proud.

Praying for you,

Love Mom

(Ardith Johnson/LaDonald, Or)"

This wonderful woman traveled many miles to stand in a crowd full of pro-troop supporters and wave the American flag. Tears filled her eyes when I said I didn't know if this message would get to her son, but that I would do my finest to deliver it.

Mrs. Johnson spoke in such loving terms about her son. She said that she is worried, but felt useful doing something on behalf of her son, who is married and has children. She appeared to be such a fantastic woman. So badly, she wanted someone to know that a Marine Mom is so proud of her child. Seldom do tears weld up in my eyes, but I had them yesterday!
