Do you take you PFTs after a lot of exercise, if so should you train that way. Do a lot of exercise then take your own PT test.

The PFT is the PT for the day. In the fleet you come to love PFT days, because it is by far the easiest PT you'll ever do.

In boot camp we always did a slow formation run to the PFT field, did a light warm up, did the PFT, and then ran back to the squad bay. Easy stuff.

PFTs are taken in many different times and under many different circumstances.

PFTs for score, however, will be the PT of the day. Usually they'll be light on you in the days prior to a PFT for score. The day you take that PFT for score, though, you'll (in my experience) just stretch out and maybe do some light exercises (pushups, etc) and then whoop it on.

There are other days though where they might PT the crap out of you then say,"Hey guess what: you're taking a PFT!" They do that because you have to be able to at least pass a PFT at ANY given moment. It doesn't matter if you just took one 4 hours ago -- you better be able to pass it.

Thank you for the info. One more thing for sertain MOSs it ask for a 1st class PT score, would that be for a certain PT test at the end of basic or for all of the test you take during the time.
