I have a question I need answered for my parents. Please Marines only.

1. If you sign up in the DEP, are you allowed to quit before you ship off to boot.(Which I'm not going to but my parents are just making sure)?

During the DEP your are a prospective Recruit. Having said that you do not have to ship unless you are attendinf drills at a reserve unit collecting pay! Until you swear in at MEPS on your shipping date you are not a Marine! This allows you to negotiate your contract or renegotiate it as the case me be!
