2 Lejeune Marines die in Iraq boat accident

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Two Marines based in North Carolina died in a nonhostile boat accident on the Euphrates River in Iraq, the military said Thursday.
Lance Cpl. William C. Chambers, 20, of Ringgold, Ga., and Lance Cpl. Jeremy L. Tinnel, 20, of Mechanicsville, Va., died Sunday while conducting combat operations in Anbar province.
Both were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune.
Chambers joined the Marines in March 2005, while Tinnel joined in August 2004, according to a written statement from their unit. Both were trained as infantry riflemen.
