8th & I Help

I'm going to be going on vacation to Quantico and DC from July 4th to the 10th and I was trying to make a reservation from the 50th anniversary of the 8th and I Evening Parade for the 6th of July. However, there seems to be a problem with the online application at http://www.mbw.usmc.mil/ParadeDefault.asp (Also a great place to visit for info on the 8th & I for you poolees who don't know much about the Barracks)
They don't accept anything but these online reservations so I do not know what I should do. I can't figure out who I should call about the problem or anything


So I guess the question is two-fold First, is it just my computer having this error and secondly what do you think I should do to rectify the situation and get myself a reservation? Anything would help! I would really like to see this!

It's not working for me either but I found the phone listing, for civillians I'd probably suggest these numbers:

You're going to freakin LOVE it woody! Every time I look at the tape that I took I STILL get that funny little feeling! When those guys come around both corners of the barracks and meet in the middle - ALLLLLLLLL that Blue & White........................(heavy sigh). These fellas REALLY show what the teamwork and focusing on your mission is all about - they're an AWESOME group!

I'm sure I will, I'm going with a former Marine and we are going to see the Marine Corps Museum and go siteseeing along with the evening parade. I am just worried that since it is the 50th anniversary and the site is down I may not be able to get a reservation or the available seats by waiting in line afterward. I will stay there all day though if I have to. I am going to try to make the call and find out what's going on though

Wow, wish I could go. If you don't make that Parade, I believe they still do Tuesday nights at the Memorial.

Kim, I know what you mean about the companies coming out from the barracks hallways. However, I prefer watching them come out from behind the Memorial. Ever see that?

Whenever I bring someone new, I tell them:
"Picture this, you've just dug your little hole in the woods here, your sergeant just came by to boost your sorry spirits, your lieutenant says the enemy is on the way. Now comes the battalion marching into the field from out of nowhere. There's your enemy, the U.S. Marines."
Might as well pull the dirt around your hole on top of you. That is one awesome sight.

Woody, make sure you go to Tuesday night's parade, too, and imagine what I said.

I think the sunset parades at the memorial are on wednesday evenings. A wise old Sgt Maj told me watch everything that goes on when I watched the 8th and I parade. There are a half dozen platoons that march out and if you watch closely you will see the incredible discipline of the silent drill platoon before they even perform. Members of other platoons might be squirming around a bit. Don't look for mistakes but observe how awesome they really are. Also while watching glance towards the commandants house there is always a group of observers there.

Coincidence: I also have tickets for the August 3 parade for a buddy and I - whoever gets the tickets from Sgt Brent should PM me and we can meet up.

P.S. If anyone here hasn't been, I would strongly suggest you d*** well clear your schedule and take SgtBrentG up on his very generous offer, the Evening Parade is not something to miss.....h£ll, I've already seen it and I'm making the effort to see it again!

I've been trying to call those numbers all day and I nobody has answered the phone...Grrr...I really want to go, but this is getting more and more frustrating ;)

If this keeps up it looks like I'll be waiting all day in line if that's what it takes, or I will have to save some money instead of boozing up the days before I leave for MCRDPI and take Sgt. Brent G up on those tickets and fly back the day before I leave for PI...whatever it takes I guess!
