I did 100 situps yesterday, and i felt fine, you know really exhilarated so i finished my workout, and i woke up this morning and every time i bend over, my sides hurt REALLY bad... anything to worry about or just average muscle ache? Am I not stretching properly?

The only STUPID QUESTION is the one you don't ask! Try to stretch it out, but don't hurt yourself! If it doesn't go away, see a doctor!

just do like side bends to stretch it out? because that's where it hurts.. it almost feels like my ribs are bruised.. I wouldn't be suprised, I've never done 100 situps in a row... (wee!)

Just make sure to stretch out before you do any kind PT and stretch out afterwards also so your muscles aren't sore. And make sure to use the proper form when your doing them as well, because if you're not that could also result in a pulled or strained muscle which will only set you back.

If you are not acustomed to ab exercises then one day pound them out your muscles are gonna let you know. Walking down stairs hurts, getting out of bed hurts. You are sore. Warm up stretch out and go do some more. Keep after it.

You're OK honey - suck it up and carry on.

"Suck it up, *****! It is what it is!"

If you can get access to one of those big rubber arobic balls you can do an ab stretch by laying on your back and letting your back loose.

Being sore is good- it lets you know that you hit the muscles well. As your body grows accoustomed to the workout it will be severe.

It also lets you know you're STILL alive! :)

good way to put it! In Boot Camp, you may feel like you're dead and in hell, but it's the pain that makes you realize, "holy ****, that isn't the devil, that's a Devil Dog DI!"

Sore abs are one of the best feelings I know.

I do 3 sets of max effort every other day and ab stretches on the off days, and let me tell you what, the improvement is clear. Keep at it, you'll learn to love it, and it's easy PFT points once you get used to it.

The best feeling for me is when you've run or pressed enough on your legs that you can barely climb stairs the next few days... haha love it!

If you like that feeling do Monkey Fu**ers/ Monkey Benders for 2 minutes straight, try not to stop. When your done try to do a 3 mile run as fast as you can, I guarentee you your legs will feel like cement. If you really want to kill your legs do that, and then when your done w/ the 3 miles do 50 hello dollies, 50 flutter kicks, 25 mister/ms olympias with out dropping. You wont be able to get out of bed the next day.

& by the way Katrina your "signature" quote rocks. I wish a lot more people would understand that.

How do you do "Monkey Fu**ers"? is it the same as eight count body builders?

Not even close but you gave me an idea, I am going to open a thread with exercises and steps to doing them. I get a lot of questions about how to perform them/ what they are. Just look for a new thread, the monkey benders/ f-ers will be in there.
