26th MEU comes home to Lejeune on Friday

The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit is scheduled to return to Camp Lejeune, N.C., on Friday.
About 2,600 Marines and sailors with the MEU will offload from the ships of the Bataan Expeditionary Strike Group from Friday through July 2, according to the unit’s Web site. The site has a tentative offload schedule.
The MEU left North Carolina on Jan. 6 for a routine six-month deployment. During their deployment, the leathernecks and sailors trained in places such as Kuwait and participated in humanitarian missions in Africa.
