Honestly, you all know so much more than we did that it would be almost impossible to answer this question. When most of us went to boot camp we couldn't just go online and find out everything like you all can. If we didn't have friends that had done it we would have never known anything.

That said, I don't thinking knowing everything about boot camp really helps. You can know everything about the Marine Corps that there is to know, you still have to show up and do it.

When I went through the Army BCT in 2000, there were quite a few know-it-alls at reception who had researched the Internet and had an answer for everything and guess what..... they were the first to crack, the first to cry, the first to utter those pathetic words "i want to go home.. i cant do this anymore... i miss my mom". .. .second prize goes to the PT studs who thought they had an edge on everybody else......and then proceeded to be broken down into a little girl by the DS, even crying in the barracks, telling us, "I think I love the Drill Sgt more than my dad...he's like, so intimidating and tough". . . im not lying, and yes.... he washed out and started over in another batallion. ..

I don't think I would have changed a thing! I had a BLAST (no pun intended) for 4 years on the Government - had 3 hots and a cot paid for, medical paid for, dental paid for, no rent, NOTHING! The money was 1/2 (if not more than) what it is today.......................hell no - wouldn't have changed a thing!
