This request for info is for another Marine who asked me to help him out. He is trying to obtain a copy of his company diary from H&S Co., 3rd Btn, 26th Marines, Vietnam, from December 1968 through August 1969. Any help here is most appreciated. Thanks and Semper Fi.

I believe he would have to write to Headquarters Marine Corps in Quantico for that. Give them as much info as possible so they get it right. If I come across the web site where I saw this I will send it to you.

You can try this site:

http://www.thevietnamfiles.com/

It is a paid membership site. I got all the monthly reports submitted by my squadron and group. Most of the stuff I saw for infantry units did not extend below battalion level, but I dropped my membership about a year ago and they were always adding more stuff. I just checked and the link is good.

Hello Sir,

My name is Ernesto and I am writing for my Father Ernesto O. Miranda. He served from 1964-68 and in Vietnam from 65-66. I am trying to find one of his old friends named Bobby Woodis. He believes he is somewhere in Alabama. Can you advise me which site I can go to to look him up.

Thank You
From a very greatfull son

I used that address to get 4 unit diaries during my tour 68/69.
You can only request 4 and some aren't too legible because of the poor quality micro film used in that era,but they are a
treasure trove of information.HQMC quit storing unit Diaries in the early 70's.Don't expect to get those back too fast. The old hurry up and wait applies, hang in there.

I found Command Chronologies for every month my unit was in Vietnam from Texas Tech University Archives.
http://www.vietnam.ttu.edu/ Mr.Thomas Reynolds is the
archival Specialist and he was so helpful and professional.I was lost until he got involved in my search.

You may want to try the National Archives in DC, most of these type of records, or a copy of them will be kept there. Be prepared to pay for the copies that you need.
