So here's the story,
My friend Nick comes back into town from accomplishing his goal of becoming a soldier of the 82nd Airborne. So he's fresh out of jump school and staying with me for most of his leave time. We've decided we are going to do a little PT together. I need some ideas on how to mess with him when its my days to decide our PT. He's got me beat when it comes to upper body workouts, always has, but his endurance was never really good. I know he did just get out of basic, but I still believe (and have the MOTO) that I could get him with a nice little endurance hump....maybe borrow some flak jackets from my RSS...hmm...
Any ideas? I can't let him have ALL the fun.

A hump will do it, one of my Army friends *****ed because he had to walk 3 miles to pick up his car lol

I have a feeling he'll bury you on the hump. He's been doing it with a pack, helmet, flak, and rifle. If you have more endurance just run him into the ground.

Side Straddle Hops, Mountain Climbers, Bends and Thrusts, Wall Sits and of course a 3-mile run.
But you should focus on getting a good PT out of it, not on out performing this guy. You could be focused on doing more than him and ending up getting hurt or worse... embarrassed. Just food for thought.

Long distance run? I mean like REALLY long distance....with those I find it's less about physical prowess, it's much more to do with your personal moto to keep going and go that extra little way. Oh, and if this is about beating your Army buddy whatever happens, get some energy drink and carry it with you, drinking from it whenever you need a boost.
Note - I wouldn't do the energy drink thing if you're currently preparing for bootcamp, you wont have the energy drinks at San Diego or Parris Island!

Granted I haven't humped over 60 lbs of gear before but I've got a good deal of pack in pack out experience. My family is a hunting family and I was a Boy Scout for a few years. I think I am actually moto for the humps at boot.
And I am going to take this as a way to get some good PT. I know my body, and my buddy knows that I'm prepping for boot so its not going to go too overboard and get either one of us injured. I just wanted to try and out do him in some way before I go to boot, I think thats some good moto to carry with me. Plus he already started threatening to burn my legs with flutter kicks.

Whether or not you physically outdo him is a testosterone "thing" ......................WHOOP his a$$ mentally and don't complain to him about one thing - even if you need to be hooked up to an oxygen source afterwards DON'T LET HIM SEE YOU FAIL! At the end of the day, ask him was THAT as physical as the Army gets in their recruit training. ;)

2-5 minute "stations" (depending on fitness level, perform each exercise for time given) Monkey Benders also known as Monkey F***ers, Mister Olympias, Star jumps, Side Straddle Hops, Flutter Kicks, run 3-6 miles, after this workout you wont be able to move for at least 3 days, its more about endurance and "mind over matter"
If your guys still have more in you do POW's, Sun Gods, Watch TV, Bear Walk, Crab walk, MT. Climbers, 2-5 min stations except for the Bear, Crab, & Firemans, you will be so trashed you will need to pop several IB Prophin I guarentee it.

flutter kicks, hello dollies, monkey f***ers are great. Run him to the ground. And like Marine84 said, don't show any weekness. The same applies as a leader in the Marine Corps. If you show your weeknesses as a leader then the lower ranking Marines will exploit it.

100% True, & one thing I have noticed is when you are in a leader position you find more strength in your self then you normally would because you cant look weak to those around. I remember when I was leading 15 4 count monkey fu***ers I could do each one with out stopping or slowing down. That was the most I have ever done with out stopping, I believe it was because I was in that position.

just run. Ive noticed most branches cant run specially in school when you train alongside navy we had to run their pft and they had to run ours. Most of them would pass us anon the first mile but they used all their energy, slowly but surely they all droped out. So thats what id suggest if you have been running with your recruiters or RA's then runnign is the best bet.

So we hadn't been hanging out for more then 3 hours before he said "I wish I would have joined the Marines. I envy what you get to try and accomplish."
THAT is motivating.
