Throughout its illustrious history the Marine Corps has been called to every major conflict on every corner of the world. "Many gave some and many gave all." We must never forget the countless other conflicts where Marines have been called to give some or all.
The attached newspaper clipping from the Washing Post dated May 6, 1996 tells a story of a forgotten conflict where the American public was not even aware we had US troops there fighting and dying.
The article was sent to me many years after I left <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1>El Salvador</st1></st1:country-region> by a dear friend retired SgtMaj J.S. which was my replacement in 1991.
I want to keep this alive as a tribute to those heroes that gave all, and my SF brothers-in-arms from USMILGRP. Also, to a former embassy team member in 83' "M.K." who eventually succumbed to his injuries sustained in <st1><st1:country-region w:st="on">El Salvador</st1:country-region></st1> almost a decade later.
