I heard this but I don't know if it is true.....Can a person's arms get "jacked up" (muscular strong huge ect...) if you do only pushups without using or using very little weights...because I use weights but I can do pushups also but I heard pushups work every muscle in your arm sooooo maybethat instead of working certain muscles at the gym for your arms you can just use your bodyweight(145 pounds no i'm not fat I guess it just spreads out cuz im either tall or got a good metablizism) IS THIS TRUE? WHAT DO YOU MARINES AND POOLEES DO? Cuz sometimes and often frequently I don't have access to a gym(I might start using it over the summer at school cuz I think the school gym is open i dont know)

I WANT TO GET JACKED UP JUST LIKE A MARINE SO I HAVE A CHACE AT PIMCRD...plus it's always nice to have/ be able to use muscle, not to mention for the girls lol:thumbup: ;)

You can get strong by doing pushups. But, you will not get as strong as you could be with a weight lifting program. You're not going to build 20 inch arms without lifting heavy weights and putting in a lot of time.

Pushups do work out your triceps alot and your biceps somewhat but it mainly hits your pecs (chest-icles) and rotator cuff (shoulder area). The push ups are very important since you'll actually be doing those in recruit training but a weight lifting program can be beneficial as well. If your trying to get buff arms concentrate on doing some bicep curls with curl bars for the inner-bicep and straight bars for the outer-bicep. and for your triceps you should do alot of dips and cable pulls. There's also an excercise where you grab a free weight and point your elbow to the sky (having the weight in your hand behind your head) then raise your hand up and lower it back (bending at the elbow).
