Your local Marine Corps recruiter is well versed in the enlistment criteria and basic qualifications required for an enlistment. In order to understand your specific eligibility, you will need to meet with a recruiter who can screen you and determine your ability to continue processing to become a Marine.

These are the basics:

You must be at least 17 years old
You must be a high school graduate or a senior in good standing.
You need to be a U.S. citizen or registered (permanent) immigrant.
You must be in good physical and mental health.

Further, it will be necessary to complete an Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) and a physical examination to better understand your fitness for service as a Marine. These will be scheduled by your recruiter once he has completed his screening, explained the Delayed Entry Program/enlistment opportunities and gained a commitment from you to become a Marine.

If you are not sure how to find your local recruiter, call 1-800- MARINES or log on to www.Marines.com. Complete the request for information and your local recruiter will be notified of your inquiry and he will contact you.
