The Cpl is selfish and throwing a "hey mommy, look at what I can do" tantrum, but he did not violate any uniform regs - he removed his insignia and name tapes. What you have left is what you can buy...

For other than honorable reasons, my now ex-deceased brother-in-law received a Bad Conduct Discharge (army). He never made it past Army Advanced Infantry Training. He was sent to Leavenworth for a...

His mistake was using obscenities in the email to that officer who stated that the Cpl's stunt may have violated uniform regs (who was not JAG, btw). Sgt gw:flag:

No. 5 years worth of American and Iraqi lives and blanks checks are losing though.....:usmc:

Once again 'labeling' instead of thinking things through. Name calling vice facts.

Ha! The left started that whole deal. I love it when the right spells something out that the left doesn't like, and immediately it's "name calling"; and yet, the 'Bushchimpyhitler' nonsense continues unabated.

You can't have things both ways.

And, it's your opinion that we are 'losing'. That is the heart of the matter right there. I could make the same case against the Union army on July 2nd 1863 at Gettysburg. Or at Arnhem in Sept 1944, or Bataan Jan 1942, or Pusan in Sept 1950 or or or....

The list is endless. I prefer to look at the big picture. As a longtime student of military history, it's my *opinion* that those who lose heart for the fight end up losing the war as well. In "The Outlaw Jose Wales", Jose has a good line: "When things get bad, and it looks like you aren't gonna win, that's when you gotta get mean. Because if you give up and quit, then you neither live, nor win....that's just the way it is..."

Losing this war will have far reaching and long term consequences that go beyond this generation, that our kids and grandkids will have to deal with, just like WE are dealing with, to this day, the perception that we 'lost' in Vietnam. "We" didn't lose, or rather, the military damn sure didn't. It was the left wing idiots who were afraid to be drafted, coupled with our own home grown socialists/fifth columnists/etc that caused a political sea change. Even after we withdrew ground combat troops, we 'promised' to support the RVN with air cover and $$$. But, the left wing who claimed congress ensured that no monies were forthcoming. Thus, the NVA were successful in their last offensive, despite Giap himself believing they would be wiped out, or suffer massive casualties.

We are STILL, to this day, paying for the left's betrayal of our allies on the ground there.

You'd think we'd learn from our past mistakes, but we never do. Or, rather, the left never does. It's the same old story over and over again.
