Master Sergeant Alan "Rick" Neumann, a Marine for 20 years, could have retired a year ago when he returned from overseas deployment in the Arabian Sea during the fighting in Afghanistan.
But Neumann, who joined the Marines six days after his 1982 graduation from Bucyrus High School, signed on in March 2002 for three more years and is now in Kuwait.
Neumann is the son of Mary Neumann of Bland Avenue and Ronald and Arlene Neumann of Lake Park, Ga. He is the grandson of Annabel Crall of Kerstetter Road and the late Marian Crall and the late Harold and Doris Neumann. Married to Janine, he is the father of four children: Ben, 19; Krystle, 16; Brecken, 9; and Nikki, 8.
