Sous3313- You state that you can't do more than 15 pull-ups. That's the problem. You must believe that you can do 20...in order to do 20. Think about it...

This woman is a God. I literally look up to her. Her words are wisdom. Anyways...I would lift wieghts and do other exercises that will strengthen your upper body. Once you have EXTREAME upper body strength lifting yourslef right up over the bar shouldn't be a problem. But, keep working at it...you will be able to do it...

Mix up your routines when doing pullups.
Do 3 days a week to give your body plenty of rest time too.
Say monday do:
Max sets as many as you can do. Do one max, set of 50 pushups. Next max set, another 50 pushups. Continue like this until you cannot even get one pullup.
tuesday: rest
Wednesday: Pyramids. go 1-10-1 or 2-4-6-8-6-4-2 with pushups between those.
Thurs : Rest
Friday : Max sets + negatives. Start out with 1 max set and pushups. Next do a few sets of negatives. Basically pull yourself over the bar and hold yourself up for as long as possible, then when you do start to lower yourself go as slow as you can until you drop. Do that 3-5 times (Each time being a set). Then finish with a final max set and pushups.
Weekend : rest
If you don't already, up protein intake while you are doing this. You can also go to the gym and do Lat pulldowns to target those areas.
