Anyone know anything about playing baseball while your in the Corps?

Most units have their own teams if there are enough of you that want to play.

Many moons ago (late 1970s) my brother played first base for the West Coast travelling softball team while he was stationed at Barstow.

BARSTOW??? was in in motor T or something?? I h8 the stumps but the high dive on the pool is pretty cool i think its the best pool in the Corps if you ask me.

Where I was stationed units had softball teams and the base had a baseball team. If you can play, you can play in the Marines. If you're good it may even get you out of duty or something to play from time to time.
As for the stumps- check my favorite duty station- I disagree.

You may not know, but when you're looking at duty driver on a Saturday you'll be happy to have a practice that gets in the way.

If you are a boxer or golfer, life is gold. Any other sport, if you want to compete, gotta beg the OIC. I bowled for the Marine team, and the looks I got when asking to go to West Coast Regionals, priceless.
Had a friend who ended up wrestling for the Corps. I had the chance to play a pick up game of softball againest "the Captain and his Crew" (3 man team) Very good....WE LOST
