GREENVILLE, S.C. -- A group of reserve Marines has volunteered to deploy to Iraq for one year.
The 23 Marines left Wednesday morning from the Donaldson Center.
They are from both the Carolinas and Georgia. The Marines are members of the Ammunition Company, 4th
Supply Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group.
There was a big sendoff as families, friends and even teachers from the Donaldson Center watched as the Marines boarded a bus and pulled away.
One of them, Kimberly Brown, married her husband just last month.
"It was always known when we first got together that he was in the Marine Corps and that was his duty to fight for his country," Brown said.
The Marines are headed to Camp Lejeune for a month or two before deploying to Iraq
