Hey, how is it going all? I'm new to this site, I thought it would be nice to say hello to my fellow Marines. I'm looking forword to hearing all your storys as well hear some of mine. I'll get some pics up soon of my time over seas. Right now I'm working in Portland Oregon, at the USAF field as a MP. Long story cut short they wanted me with the Fly-boys. Hey I have no beef with them, they saved are asses a few to many times.:marine:

One of my favorite military anecdotes involves the Air Force.

It’s a long established fact that whenever two or more individuals with involvement in aviation gather together, it’s just a matter of time before the hangar doors come open.

Thus it is with me, a “winger” in the Marine Corps, and a good friend of mine, now a pilot for FedEx, who was once a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. During one such session, he told me that while on a 12 month deployment to a U.S. Air Force base in Japan, (Tachikawa, as I recall), the pilots from his squadron were barred from the Officer’s Club for 30 days on three different occasions.

When I naturally asked him why, he allowed as how that on one occasion they had thrown the club manager into the swimming pool.

When I commented that being barred from the club for 30 days seemed a little steep just for throwing the club manager into the swimming pool, he replied, “Well, you have to realize that there was this 6 foot high chain link fence around the pool….” He didn’t expound on the mechanics involved in launching a club manager over a 6 foot high fence.

A group like that can’t be all bad! In fact, it kind of reminds me of VMA-533 at one point in time.

Welcome aboard Marine. Semper Fi. Going over your profile I think maybe you made a few mistakes.

It says your graduated bootcamp in 2000 and your 23 . That would mean you were either 16 or early when you were 17 . Maybe Im wrong , sorry about that.

Second thing, your boot camp number ...it says you were in the 287th platoon...????????? maybe just a typo. Sorry if Im wrong.

Youve been in OIF 1, 2, and OEF . but you only state 2 tours. Sorry ...just paying attention to detail.

:flag:  :iwo: Howdy Marine. Welcome to the site, where you can get in on some convo. Had two good AF Airmen. One was my brother who died in 77 while at Minot N.D. AFB., and a dear high school friend, retired out of the AF, E-9, killed earlier this year, in a car accident. AF are good people....They saved my bacon a couple times too, in the land Of OZ. When in doubt about anything, don't hesitate to ask, we all will guide you in the right direction. :-), Welcome aboard. Now carry on you worm forsaken maggot's.

Well all I think we have been had. I don't believe there is a AFB in Portland or anywhere in Oregon. I don't think there are any active bases of any kind any where in Oregon.

Somebody want to confirm?

I was cruising and noticed his name in the active users part of this site so I sent him a PM. All I asked was how a 23 year old could have been in the Marine Corps 7 years already. Still hoping for a reply. I did serve with a couple of Marines that shipped exactly on their 17th birthday.
