A poem, titled "Oct. 20, 2005," by Stephanie Jo Bard, sister of Marine Lance Cpl. Steven Szwydek of Warfordsburg, Pa., who was killed in Iraq on that date:
Life changed
That October day.
Hearts were broken
That October day.
Time stood still as a son was taken
That October day.
The Marines lost a brother in arms
That October day.
A hero was wept over
That October day.
God gave comfort to a grieving family
That October day.
Heaven gained another warrior
That October day.
