U.S. Marines in Iraq Receiving Donated Vitamin E Lip Balms

HADDONFIELD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Many U.S. Marines in Iraq will have extra protection from the harsh summer sun there as a result of a donation of thousands of Vitamin E Sticks.
The Vitamin E sticks, in a handy lipstick-type tube, have been given by Reviva Labs, 705 Hopkins Road, Haddonfield, N.J. (1-800-257-7774).
The gifts came about when Private First Class Adam Murray, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, received from his family, of Turnersville, N.J., some Reviva Vitamin E Sticks.
His mother-in-law, Casey Mastran, had sent it.
A barber, she had received for herself several of the sticks from a customer. He was Stephen Strassler president and founder of Reviva Labs and a long time client of Ms. Mastran.
Strassler, at the time did not know her son-in-law was on active duty in Iraq.
And he did not know she intended to send Strassler's gift to her son-in-law.
Shortly thereafter, Ms. Mastran told Strassler her son wrote her that many members of his Marine company "fought over" getting the Reviva E sticks.
They were being used by his comrades to protect their lips and under-eye areas from the desert sun, wind and sand.
Private Murray also said they were also using the Vitamin E sticks on bug and spider bites.
Hearing this, Strassler organized a committee of Reviva personnel, who volunteered to package and ship, at Reviva's expense, a flow of the Vitamin E sticks for PFC Murray to distribute to additional U.S. Marines in Iraq.
"Lips, particularly the lower lips, are very vulnerable to sun and wind damage. Lips get dry, crack and even worse things can happen," Strassler, a veteran aesthetician, reports.
"Our modest aid may bring major reliefs," he added.
Reviva Labs is now in its 34th year.
Its skin care products are used throughout the U.S., Canada, Asia, the U.K., and in the Caribbean. Distribution is in health food stores, cosmetic stores, and professional skin-care salons.
