If you Marines could pick a sport, that would best prepare you for the Marine Corps or boot camp, what would it be?

Wrestling, without out a doubt in my mind. It won't get you totally prepared, but it will be close. In football and basketball you don't run distance. In track you neglect strength training.

Personally, I'd probably view it as win/win. ;)

I was a wrestler in middle school and high school, and a few other guys from my high school team ended up becoming Marines as well. I've ran into quite a few Marines that wrestled. Football seems to be pretty popular too. If you are in good enough shape to succeed in varsity sports (I mean a real sport, not like badminton or something), then you should be fairly-well prepared (at least physically) for boot camp and then the Marine Corps.
