I can't find a good description of what these Marines do. I thought it would be a very rewarding job in the Marines, and very interesting because it seems to encompass so many aspects of aviation (hence my vague understanding). Any former crew chiefs care to share their experiences?

Thanks in advance

kk a crew chief is basically power plants who work on the engine and stuff like that. after your MOS school you g there is a school in pensacola where most air wingers go and you go get your aircrew.. where youg et ur wings and stuff.

You get other quals the longer you have been in but you arent in the shop you fly with the pilots of the helos.

Basically you will be assigned to the O level of a rotary unit in the maintainence dept.

Thank you, sir. So what you're saying is that they are more like mechanics than anything else, but they get to ride along and take care of the gear in-flight while the pilot/navigator do their business?
