There has been terrorisim since man took his first breath. We have never learned how to get along with each other in this country or any other.............. The reason there is terrorisim bigger than before is because there are more humans than before... Figure that one out....

What a crock of sh*t.

Because of Iraq, Democrats will probably win the White House, either electing Hillary the Dy*e or Usama, I mean Obama. We will pull our troops and to the world show how spineless this country is becoming.

So, when Presley O'Bannon and his Marines fought the Barbary Pirates 200 years ago, that was President Bush's fault too, right?

Give me a freakin' break!!!

Back then, it was flintlocks, sabres, and wooden ships.
Now it's machine guns, missles, and carrier battle groups.

Other than that, it's pretty much the same thing..."The infidel must DIE !!!"

Most of us here understand and support the fact that we need to fight this fight.

The rest are apparently content to just bend over, and let the jihadists "stick it in, and break it off."

Can you please explain to me why/how keeping them in harms way is working?

What have we won? Only more lives are being lost. Attacks are up 18.5X since "Mission Accomplished" was Bannered. The cost of the war is in the 500BB range now and climbing...

It is over. Saddam is gone. The army of Iraq is disbanded. No WMD's....OK?

We need to be out of there now. It is utterly irresponsible of us to continue this travesty of justice to our troops, thier families, the budget deficit and the American and Iraqi public.

The fight (WOT) is not just in Iraq as you can see with the attempted attack in NJ yesterday. The politicians who created this mess should now take repsonsilbility and do the right thing to end this debacle:usmc:

Silly Me... I always thought it was called... Operation Iraqi FREEDOM

I think CLINTON said it best.

The United States favors an Iraq that offers its people freedom at home. I categorically reject arguments that this is unattainable due to Iraq's history or its ethnic or sectarian make-up. Iraqis deserve and desire freedom like everyone else. The United States looks forward to a democratically supported regime that would permit us to enter into a dialogue leading to the reintegration of Iraq into normal international life.

Sir the republicans ran the show for 4 years of the war. I cannot agree that we ran a politically correct version of it because of the democrats. The torture, losing of rights (US citizens) and other gov't abuses were all in the hands of the do nothing republican congress and this rubber stamped admin.

This war is compounded by failure just like this admin. They need to be held accountable and the remaining republicans need to do this. This admin even claims that they will follow us here if we leave there. Just pure BS and the American people are fed up. The enemy is here and yesterday proves it in the almost worst way.

Homeland security is the primary issue and 500BB spent since 2003 could have protected this country.

I sometimes wonder why we have Democrats and Republicans, then I see threads like this and I realize what must go on in DC! The post here are all motivated by "our" beliefs, thiers are motivated by politics, whatever that may be! With a 27% public approval rate, British Prime Minister Blair quit! Our President has his hands full and will do as HE sees fit (do or die), for the benefit of our country, at least for the next few months. When it's all said and done, we will all rally around the person in the office, as that is our mission (as Marines), to support the Commander In Chief!

Marines, we can debate this anyway you want, for as long as you want. But the outcome will not be decided by our post or ideas. Nor by our arguments, for that matter! I want to thank you all for the opportunity to read your deep thoughts on this matter, but it seems to me that some of us take things a little to personal. We are, and always have been, a TEAM! There is no "I" in team!

So, take a deep breath, relax and keep up the debate, I really enjoy reading the rants and raves from you guys! After all, this is what AMERICA is all about, right?

As an INDEPENDANT, I can honestly say, that I support our Mission as Marines, and always will! I support each of you and your opinions, so type on Brothers and Semper Fi to all of you.

drumcorpssnare
05-10-07, 10:13 AM
jetdawgg- Of course they haven't stopped since we've been in Iraq! But remember, they started killing innocent people, including Americans...long before we set foot in Iraq.
You don't seem to realize...the terrorists are not killing innocent people because America is in Iraq.
America is in Iraq because terrorists are killing innocent people.
Jet, read and re-read those last two sentances. When that soaks in, you will understand why an overwhelming majority of America's troops truly want to stay and get the job done.
If this war is truly so unpopular, why is it that the number of troops speaking out against the war is almost non-existent? Wouldn't you think that the many thousands of troops who fought there, who are now out of the service, would raise up their voices against this war?
Where are they, Jet?

Also, you agree the terrorists will not stop, if and when we leave Iraq. So, what's your plan? Shall we just let them have free reign to continue their savage, indescriminate killing? Should America just stick it's head in the sand and hope the problem goes away, just because the solution is not an easy one?

What say you?

Sigh.

Gentlemen. And in some cases, that term is used loosely.

A suggestion is in order here. Obviously, the Jetster has a right to post his goofy left wing nonsense here. So be it.

My suggestion, (and I assure you, my BP continues to rise whenever I see the rantings), is to simply ignore the stuff. The left wing loves it when we engage in this, because, as warriors, we can't, and mostly won't, let stuff like this ride, we just have to comment. Which continues to play into the delusion of debate. There is no debate hereabouts. Liberalism is a mental disorder (thank you Mr Savage). What do you get when you argue with a nut?

Nothing. But, the nut gets satisfaction when you engage him or her, it plays into the delusion.

Debate is designed to change an opinion on one side or the other. Ole Jet's opinion is unchangeable. Therefore, the more we 'play' with this, the further we sink deeper into the liberal morass.

He can post all he wants. My humble suggestion, as much as it pains me (because most of you know, I love writing responses more than anything) is to IGNORE the poor, deluded lad. Eventually, he goes away and peddles his snake oil elsewhere.

10Z just likes to stir things up, and is funny to boot. While we may disagree with him (violently at times), he is still fun to talk to.

You want to post something in response to Jet? Use emoticons. Maybe the admin will give us a proper emoticon, say, a troll, or Jane Fonda being horsewhipped, or something.

That way we get to respond without the verbiage.

Just an idea. Now, back to the regularly scheduled liberal nonsense....

MoveOn.org's Veterans Affiliate
By Michael Reagan
FrontPageMagazine.com | May 11, 2007

Maggie Thatcher had a great line about politicians who lose their nerve when faced with a big problem: she warned them against going wobbly.

That warning would be lost on the members of today’s national Democratic Party. They’ve gone far beyond that stage. Nowadays they have no problem with being seen as America’s surrender monkeys.

Covering their eyes so they won’t be able to see how their policies will bring on a holocaust that will afflict the Middle East, and their ears so they won’t hear the cries of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and Afghans as they are butchered by al-Qaeda and Iranian terrorists, they are willing to stand by while chaos reigns in the entire region, a major part of our oil supply is cut off, and terrorism comes home to our front door.

Their latest gambit, carried out under the guise of an organization of veterans calling themselves VoteVet.org, a group affiliated with the Soros-funded far-Left MoveOn.org – a Democratic front group -- has sponsored a TV ad featuring retired Gen. John Batiste, Gen. Paul Eaton, and failed Democratic presidential candidate Gen. Wesley Clark.

The ad opens with a clip of President Bush saying, "I have always said that I will listen to the requests of our commanders on the ground."

In the ad Batiste says, "Mr. President, you did not listen. You continue to pursue a failed strategy that is breaking our great Army and Marine Corps. Mr. President, you have placed our nation in peril. Our only hope is that Congress will act now to protect our fighting men and women."

What Batiste is really saying is that President Bush doesn’t listen to him, which, thankfully, is true. Instead, the president is listening to his top general in Iraq, General Petraeus, and the other generals there. They are on the ground, know what’s going on there, are following a carefully thought out strategy, and they are convinced they can bring about a political solution – which the Democrats are demanding - by first making it possible by wiping out al-Qaeda and other foreign fighters and quelling the sectarian violence which stands in the way of political unity among all Iraqis.

The blatantly obvious political motive behind the group was noticed by retired Gen. William Nash, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. He told ABC, "When you become part of the political process, you're taking some part of your uniform into that arena and that is an issue that many soldiers, whether they be active or retired, would have a problem with."

The group’s ads target GOP House members Mary Bono of California, Phil English of Pennsylvania, Randy Kuhl and James Walsh of New York, Jo Ann Emerson of Missouri, Timothy Johnson of Illinois, Mike Rogers and Fred Upton of Michigan, and Michael Castle of Delaware.

Recognizing the real source of the ads, English's spokeswoman Julia Wanzco sneered, "The congressman has long stated that he is for a political settlement, not a surge, and at the end of the day, these ads are more about cheap Democratic political stunts than about solving the actual problem."

Solving the problem, however, is not what this is all about. Sen. Harry Reid, the hapless Democrat majority leader in the Senate, made it quite plain what his party’s motive in all but surrendering to Osama bin Laden is all about: winning more seats in the Senate next year. National security be damned; full speed in reverse.

When he had the gall to all but tell al-Qaeda that they have won and we have lost, he in effect told out troops – you know, all those soldiers and Marines over there in harm’s way -- that they are wasting their time risking life and limb; that’s it’s a losing battle. What a great morale builder that was!

In using front groups like MoveOn.org and VoteVets.org to spew their venom the Democrats have shown that they learned a lesson from the Soviets, who all but created the strategy of hiding behind innocent-sounding fronts here in America.

It’s too bad that officers with splendid military records are allowing themselves to be the patsies for the surrender monkeys.

Ellie

Is it me or did davblay just blow some fresh air in here?

"Progessive...= Communist"

Just a term the left has used to re-invent itself since the word "liberal" makes most people automatically think "Surrender monkey/loser/Dukakis/Mondale/" etc.
