Just 30 minutes away to the Concord, NH RSS. I was bummed because we hang out a lot and I am getting a new set of recruiters there for just a month before I go to boot. But I'll probably still drive up to Concord to hang out every now and then. So I met my new recruiter a couple weeks ago and today when I went in he said if I got him a referral (they don't have to enlist, just get their info) this week, he'd let me drive his Mustang GT to the Senior Banquet next Thursday. This has been the best year of my life

I really don't mean to break your heart. But generally speaking the reason why recruiters are so nice is because they don't want you to drop out.

Eh..I'd agree sometimes, but I can see the difference between the recruiters there. A couple I know are just nice for that reason, but there is no way I'm backing out and they know it. I know for a fact I get along with the one leaving and the new guy though, just cuz. There is no way he'd let any other Poolee drive that.

No need to worry too much man. I have gone through 3 recruiters haha they are good guys and will take care of you as long as you do your part of the job. From what you say he is already there to help.

They have reputations to keep too. By doing good things for you, they are more likely to get referalls and others to sign up. (Especially if they make that part of the deal) You might as well cash in on it now, it'll probably be the last time you will get perks in your life for doing something you should be doing anyways...;)

YEAH RIGHT!!! not all recruiters are nice... I got a nice one when he can be, but **** him of and he will let you know whats up... Same with all 4 recruiters are the RSS. When we have the pool functions, they turn into a different person. But when its over with they are cool.

I met my recruiter on his bad day, ****ed.. lol

Well no ****...you **** me off too and I'm a different person...however they sell the Corps and have to do everything in their power to get you shipped. Usually this is done in a nice way, but start wavering, lying, or not giving 100% and you will see a different person I am sure.

Recruiters are GREAT in the work they do to put young poolees into the Marine Corps! The work they have is cut out for them and they have a helluva job to do.

If what you say about the Mustang GTO is legit,I would ask you to err on the side of caution. With as much going on in the news of late the only thing that I would except from my recruiter other than contract agreements,freebies..bumper stickers, key chains,et. are a pen and a bottle of water. Not that he isn't down to earth and a good guy and a fine Marine, but in today's society this is sort of like the student and teachers on the 6:00 news.

Just my negative opine!

The man said "DRIVE", POOLEE! Hummmmmmmm------could be you're right!Haha I'm serious that they aren't lying about this. I hang out there everyday after work for an hour or so. The one phone number they don't even really care about, but I already know who I can get that from. He's already let me drive it around on a quick 5 min drive before and he's bought me and my date dinner before. Plus he already texted her and told her about us taking it and he wouldn't go back on his word especially with her. I'll get a picture of that day then...

This is a situation that his NCOIC needs to know about! This is above and beyond the call of duty! Just curious, but how many of you Marines would loan a new Mustang GT to a near stranger, a teenager at that? I can see a new recruiter trying to get on the good side with people, but Poolees of another recruiter-----come on--- I just find it hard to believe that he doesn't want "SOMETHING" in return! Does your parents know about this?

Ya my parents know about it. It really isn't a sketchy situation. I've hung out with the recruiter leaving ever since September. Like I'm always in the office either doing community service that was school required or just hanging out. I'm at least there twice a week. My recruiter leaving was supposed to be getting a new car around now and was gonna let me use it, but he hasn't gotten it. So when Sgt McCloud came about a month ago, I was introduced as the kid that is always at the office. So I was like the first poolee he got to know and since everyone else trusted me, he started to trust me fast. So SSgt Jox told him that I could be trusted using the car that night. And he was like "Fine, but get me some numbers and talk to you friend Sarah and see why her boyfriend hasn't answered his phone in a while". So I did that and he's letting me use it. And he is becoming my recruiter in like a week since my old recruiter is transitioning right now.

So I talked to SSgt again today and I am definitely taking the Mustang. He called my mom to tell her it was a definite because she was all nervous about the maybe-ness. In exchange I'm helping him move stuff from his storage bin to his new place. And he said that he needs to drive his Monte Carlo to his place too, so I also get to drive the Mustang tomorrow too. It's gonna be a good weekend

I used it yesterday. I picked up at 1030am and got it back to him at 1030pm. It was the best twelve hours of my life. I'm pretty sure I dribbled some pee on the seat. But my banquet date thought it was hott and everyone there knew I got the hook up from my recruiter, so they think he is the coolest person ever now. I'll prob put a pic up.

SSgt Macleod owns all other recruiters
