CAMP HANSEN, Okinawa - Camp Hansen Medical Clinic has a new section that integrates seven battalion aid stations under one roof.

Before the integration, which was unveiled Friday, aid stations were at several locations on Camp Hansen.

The stations did not have X-rays, labs and other ancillary care and would have to send Marines to the Hansen clinic, said Cmdr. David Castellano, senior nurse for all Okinawa Branch Clinics.

Integrating the medical services gives aid station corpsmen access to additional equipment and provides better care, Castellano said.

"Because it's integrated and accessible, it makes it easier for Marines to seek the treatment they need," said Col. Laurent Baker, Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group and camp commander.

The aid stations now included in the clinic facility are: 7th Communications Battalion, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, 3rd Medical Battalion, III MEF Headquarters Group, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 12th Marine Regiments and 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines.
