Friends, family, and residents came to honor Elisha Parker. Even Elisha's favorite superhero, Spiderman, helped dedicate the new youth center to the fallen Marine.

His family says this building ensures he will be remembered forever.

Elisha's father, Renny Parker, said, "When you have something, and you don't have it anymore, you always want to cling to that memory. And, something that we thought was valuable to everybody else would want to cling to and his legacy and the way he lived. And, we want to make sure everybody knows that, and it gives us a standard to measure ourselves at."

This youth center never would've been built if it wasn't for the generosity of the community. More than $80,000 was donated to help take this building from a supply closet to a place where kids could hang out.

Camden Resident Mark LaRobardiere said, "Just whatever's been asked of anyone, it's been completed. And, it's just been an awesome experience for the family and the community and the church. Just to put something together like this in a year is just overwhelming."

Camden resident Lori Willson said, "It's been an awesome year because so many people from so many different places reached out, and that's what nice to see."

That same community involvement has helped the Parker's for the past year.

"That's been everything for us to have that kind of support," said Renny Parker.

That support will continue in Camden because May 5th will now always be remembered as Elisha Parker Day.
