Like I posted on the comments of this video, I think that we're all Americans here. We fight among each other because we really have nothing better to do. When crap hits the fan though, we all unite, and we're all Americans. Thanks to all the veterans, current and past and future.

I think I'm allergic to that song, my eyes always tear and I get the sniffles when I hear it.
Man, that makes me want to ship today.

Hearing this song renews the pride I already have in this country and the US Armed Forces. I feel a hint of sadness when I hear it as well because I cannot serve this country in the military.

It feels we're allergic to the same thing. ;)

Nice sig ;). And I'm in the same boat as you man. DQ'd. You can still support the country in other ways.
I'm glad you guys enjoyed the video.
Kildars, why'd you get DQ'd and how are you in the DEP?
I hope I just misunderstood, you seem to be one of the more motivated poolees on here.

When Lee Greenwood recorded that song, he just thought it was a "NICE SONG"! He had no idea what he had produced! He has sung that song in so many places, including the White House. In 1984 the Tennesse Army National Guard Recruiting Department adapted it as the "OFFICIAL RECRUITING SONG" for Tennessee! It is one of, if not the, most inspirational songs in this Country, next to the National Anthem and of course the Marines Hymm!
Very good post and slide show, thanks. BTW KIM I enjoyed yours as well!

I don't know why my status says Poolee/DEP I think the Admins set it that way, it used to say "Marine Friend." I was DQ'd because I have a hearing loss in my right ear. So, if any admins/mods wanna change it back be my guest :). Thank you for the compliment though HLeyb.

I still don't understand why they are so strict with hearing issues. I don't know many former Marines that have hearing that wasn't damaged during their time in. It seems to me they could just rest happy that for once the damage wasn't their fault.

You know, when I talk to Marines in person and stuff, or even on this board. You all say the exact same thing. It's interesting. I guess the Navy Waiver doctors thought differently.
