Welcome-home event for Marines on Saturday

The public is invited to a welcome-home celebration Saturday at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in honor of the return of Weapons Company 3rd battalion, 24th Marines.
The marines and sailors have just completed combat operations in Iraq as part of 1st Battalion, 24th Marines during a normal force rotation.
The unit is returning from a seven-month deployment.
The celebration starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 1110 N. Fremont Ave. Marines are expected to arrive at 7 p.m.
Organizers said the public may also show support by lining up along Glenstone Avenue (up to Pythian Avenue) and Pythian Avenue up to the Armed Forces Reserve Center as the servicemen and women arrive.
