Marine Forces Reserve is toughening its stance on reckless driving during duty hours by inviting complaints about how leathernecks perform behind the wheel of government vehicles.

MarForRes has issued 500 “How’s my driving?” bumper stickers to be affixed to all government vehicles used at its 183 sites, it said Thursday. Any complaints received would be referred to the unit command responsible for the vehicle for possible disciplinary action.

Commanders retain discretion over penalties, but extreme misuse of a vehicle could warrant a court-martial, MarForRes safety director Jeff Peters said in a statement.

About 50 government vehicles are on MarForRes roads at any time, Sgt. Lorenzo Lawson, chief dispatch of motor transport for the command, said in a statement. “It’s a good step to ensure Marines are properly using government vehicles in accordance with state laws,” he said.
