Lance corporal dies in vehicle accident

A lance corporal with Camp Lejeune, N.C.-based 2nd Marine Logistics Battalion died Saturday from a non-hostile vehicle accident in Iraq’s Anbar province, the Defense Department announced Monday.
Lance Cpl. Daniel J. Santee, 21, of Mission Viejo, Calif., was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 27 in Anbar at the time of the accident, which a 2nd MLG spokesman said is under investigation.
Santee, a military policeman, enlisted on May 8, 2006, and joined the unit in November, said 2nd MLG spokesman 2nd Lt. Richard Ulsh.
Santee deployed to Iraq earlier this year, Ulsh said.
