looking for info about Major James McGarvey VMA (AW)-242

I am looking for anyone who knew James McGarvey. He was the first Marine pilot who went down over North Vietnam in an A-6 in 1967. He was with VMA (AW)- 242 out of Cherry Point. He is my daughter-in-law's grandfather.
