$20,000 Bonus for being on a boat?

Ok I have been out for 6 years, but my cousin is in currently and is on a boat somewhere 0311. I was told by his mother that they are getting a $20,000 bonus just for being on the boat. Any truth to this or BS? Seems a little odd to me.

Doesn't sound likely. There are some crazy reenlistment bonuses, but I would be surprised if the 03's are getting those.

You don't get a bonus for being on a boat. Marines belong on boats.

Is your cousin in a SOC Company on deployment? If he's a SNCO Platoon Leader in Special Operations Command, then hell yes $20k is a bargain for The Corps.
