I read in another post (I believe in the POOL (ee) HALL board) that MSG is a billet along with recruiter or DI or embassy duty. I thought that MSG was just one of the jobs you could get assigned to as an MP (I am shipping to MCRD PI in mid-may as an MP reservist (until I finish college then it's off to either OCS or augmenting to active duty enlisted) and am trying to read some literature about the job).

What kind of duties are part of the MSG billet?

MSG is billet, and it's embassy duty. You don't get it as an MP but being an MP could help you get into MSG. The MSG Marines guard the American embassies located around the world. You have to be recommended for it by your CO as well before you apply to it. If you can do it, go for it.
