so this is like the 4th one I post about this topic
but what is the difference between summer and winter or fall boot camp?
and what are the advanatages and disadvantages of them?

Well to answer your question, the training is the same! But the weather has different effects on different people, some like hot weather and some like it cooler! That's up to you, but the training is the same except the BLACK FLAG goes up in the summer time, during hot weather, and all training stops. That's when the temp gets over a certain point. But you will be doing other things to keep yourself occupied, believe me you will! Notice I said TRAINING! That doen't mean the DI's give that time off! That just means that when the black flag goes down, training will continue, even harder to catch up, you may even start your training at 0300 instead of 0500! I have known of training days starting at 0200 until 1400, to get the full day in! Get it?
Some of the other Marines, can probably give you a better, updated answer, as it's been 37 years since I went thru MCRDSD, ok? ;)

I sent this in a PM, but some may want to see. In the summer, you'll get really hot and see some black flags which halts all outdoor training. (But, you can still do many things in the squad bay.) But, due to the proximity to the ocean, the coastal winds will usually keep the temp below black flag levels. PI recruits are likely to see more black flags.
In the winter you can get very cold. This is especially the case when you are at Camp Pendleton in the field. Doing everything outdoors, including taking canteen showers can get pretty cool any time of year.
More than the temp, the thing to consider is whether it is the rainy season or the dry season. Training does not stop just because of a little rain. So, if you have a problem with getting wet, that is something you may want to avoid.

I went during the summer and it sucked really bad. There was a lot of heat casualties. Especially, if u are going to San Diego because of all the hills you will hump up. Which makes dihidration really high. The only advice I can give you is if you go during the summer drink a lot of water it will help you.

thanks, yeah i was planning to go over the summer,
since in my wrestling team the coach puts the heater on the room and it can get to like 130 degrees and it sucks.
does black flag days delay graduation?

No, black flag days don't change anything other than what you do while it is a black flag. There won't be many of them. And it is totally different than a wrestling practice. A wrestling room can get pretty hot, but not 130 degrees. And, wrestling practice is what it is- not quite the same as humping up a mountain.

I went thru NCRDSD in 1969 in may and june, AIT in Camp Pendelton in July and Aug 1969. I only saw the Black Flag three time in San Dieg and we trained indoors during the hot times as it is a little cooler inside out of the sun, however when in ITR when the time came to climb OLD SMOKEY the Black Flag went up about three forths of the way up, our TROOP HANDlERS DID'NT see the flag and proceeded the climb, we finished the climb, drank a ton of water ,ate our "C" rations, had a class with the smoking lamp lit the entire time and then humped back down after the flag went down, no training missed!
ooo=rah;)

Our senior said one time "Black Flag kills roaches...If you see a black flag, and you are a roach, just know that you are about to die..." That was one kick-azz Marine!

119, all wrestling coaches do that. Just a way to sweat a little water weight out of those pulling. Trust me, it isn't the same thing.
