I was browsing the web earlier, specifically the homepage for MCRTSD, and I found that you do log drills. I already browsed the forums for a answer to what I wanted to know, and I didn't find anything--so that being said--Can anyone describe to me what a recruit does while in the log training phase of recruit training?

Dear God in Heaven, they're still doing that cruel and inhuman form of punishment??? Actually, that is a good question. Log drills, as I remember them, involved a number of recruits picking up, toting around, bench pressing, and otherwise pt'ing with what amounts to a fat telephone pole. These drills of course build strength, however, they are more for the purpose of teaching recruits to work as a team, as well as being able to identify who isn't doing their share, so you know who needs a blanket party after lights out. It's like the SEALS with their rafts, only these will break your frickin' neck if you screw up with them.
