Would you believe this gun could require you to obtain registration and payment of special taxes similar to those for fully-automatic weapons. Possession of an without meeting these requirements...

Massachusetts is 1/50th of the answer to your question, but the question was, what would make this gun require licensing similar to fully-automatic weapons http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/06.gif

Hint: You have one http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/01.gif

Barrel length less than 2 inches ?? Made after September 13, 1994 ??

Would it fall under a class "A" or "B" permit ??

Mass-a-2-sh!t$ has some of the most DRACONIAN gun laws ni the nation. Permit required even to buy ammo.

I knew several police officers who carried one of those exact derringers as second back-up guns. Since they carried them on-duty, they had to qualify. I devised a short proficiency course which basically was near-touching distance shooting into the target's face.

Those little guns were reasonably accurate at 7-yards, although we tested them out on distance more from curiosity. Much past 10-yards you could get better accuracy throwing the gun.

10thz- Is that little derringer made by "Freedom Arms"? There was a bunch of F/A pistols showed up in WY. about 15 yrs ago about that size. Some even "clipped" into one of those cowboy belt buckles. Wasn't for me. I went with a 3" bore instead of a .22 cal.:D

...course, I couldn't clip that 800 lb. barrel onto my Civil War belt buckle! LOL
