View Full Version : 50's marines hard to locate.
I was 17 back in 54 when I joined up with two highschool buddies .We were getting out of boot camp when 3 other buddies joined up.Now in 07 two of the six are dead. the remaining four still keep in touch, were all 70 to 71 years old. I've been trying to locate guys I served with but I dont think a lot of 70 + year old guys get on the computer. What are we supose to do? marines from West va.
I know what you mean cball, I am 67 yrs old, boot camp 1957 mcrd diego but did get a reply from a marine in the same company but differant platoon my 271 his 272. keep trying.

My Dad enlisted in the Corps out of High School in '50 just in time for an excursion to Korea. I set his computer up for him (the first one) 10 years ago. The guy still had the muscle to land it in the middle of the back yard from the upstairs office window! Somebody else set up his second one but, I digress. He's still a Marine and reunites with Old Salts by making events like the conventions of the First Marine Division Association (wherever they are) and is still active in the Marine Corps League. Both are good sources to keep up with or possibly find old buddies.

My husband joined the marines in 1954. He went to basic training at Parris Island. He was in Recon and stationed at Camp Leguene NC. He was there until he got out in 1958. I am looking for buddies of his or someone who served during this time and place. Would love photos, scrapbook info, historical info, etc.
