I was asked to post this poem by Sarah Doyle and Delana Parker. Thank you ladies!
We wish for you a porter potty during missions in foreign lands.
We wish for you toilet paper so you don't have to use your hands.
We wish for you a rainy day at least two days a week,
So you can wash off all that dirt and sweat that really makes you reek!!
We wish for you lots of rest to keep you from going wacky,
So you will have perfect aim when you spot your first Iraqi.
We wish for you an officer, who’s in a real great mood,
So you don’t have to yell at the troops and make them think you’re rude.
We wish for you to find cool stuff as you’re scouring the desert floor,
So you can bring them home and add to your collection on the floor.
We wish for you some bug kill, in a little can like mace,
So you can keep them nasty flies from landing on your face.
We wish for you some laxative with every MRE,
To keep your intestines working, steady as can be.
We wish for you some courage to fight like devil dogs,
Remember you’re grown shellbacks, and not some nasty wogs.
We wish for you an amtrack that doesn’t break down from place to place,
So you won’t have to hitchhike all the way back to base.
We wish for you some batteries to keep your NV’s working,
So you can see Iraqis in the night as they are lurking.
We wish for you a MOPP suit that keeps the bad stuff out,
So while you kill Iraqis, you’ll be fine, without a doubt.
We wish for you lots of hazard pay if you must go to Iraq,
Just think of all the cash you’ll make with each and every attack.
We wish for you some peaceful nights so you can dream of home,
And remember while you’re out there you never are alone.
We wish for you some comfort, for your safety we will pray,
We love you and we’ll think of you each and every day.
Sometimes the line of work you do, support it does lack,
But remember you’ve got some ladies here who will always have your back.
