Rocky I took a whole bunch of Senior Citizen computer courses at the local Junior College. Computers 101, 102, 103,104.

Do you know the instructor told us afterward ? That we now had the equivalent of a 4th grade education in computers, the good news is that we know more than 80% of the people that own computers http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/11.gif

I have three grandchildren 8, 10 and 13 know more than I do, seriously. See what you have to look forward to when I turn them loose in the poolee section, a bunch of computer savvy mini-me's http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/34.gif

I have two more that just got their own computers 3 and a 5 y/o, their Mom is a computer expert and a comptroller for a national corporation.

I know they will http://www.leatherneck.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

My local Jr. College is Triton, River Grove, IL. I got lucky in computer 102 and 103 and got an outstanding teacher by the name of Steve Johns. I couldn't get him for 104 because he was a part timer, not allowed to teach 104. The 104 instructor was alright, but I know Steve would of been better.

Incidentally, I met the 'Last Man On The Moon' there, astronaut Eugene Cernan; a space center there is named after him [Local boy]. My brother played football with him at Proviso East when they took Illinois State Championship in 1950. He autographed two of his "Last Man On The Moon" books for me. He's in great shape, still making instrument landings in jets. He's in his mid-seventies, there is hope for us

That $1500 in student fees sounds strange.

At the University of Nebraska a few years ago, there was a computer class in MS Office required for the degree I was working on, but UN had the class hopelessly screwed up. At one point, they simply cancelled all of the classes and told the students to just show up for the exam.

A local community college offered the equivalent course on-line which would transfer back to UN for credit, so I took it and transferred the credit to UN towards my degree. All it cost me was the usual tuition.

BTW, at age 67 at the time, out of 17 students in the class, mostly young, traditionals, I finished second with a 4.0 GPA for the class and a final grade of A+. One other student beat me by .2 percent on one project.

You might want to shop around a bit.
