Hello poolees and Marines. This is Poolee Cox. I had a couple of questions about Presidential Guard. First, I DEP"d in early Feb. 07 under an open contract. My two choices that I wanted were Aviation Mechanic and Marine Corps Security Forces (PRP). Well found out yesterday I was denied Aviation Mechanic and offered Presidential Guard under the MCSF. I was wondering is this guaranteed in my enlistment? If so, were can I find information on Presidential Guard as far as duties, mos school and such? Thanks

Why were you denied Aviation Mechanic?

I have no idea why. But wouldnt it be harder to get Presidential Guard than Aviation Mechanic?

Maybe they denied you Aviation Mechanic b/c of your ASVAB score? I believe your scores pretty much dictate your MOS options.

Oh yeah I should mention that I'm currently attending an Aircraft Maintence Technologies School, it's a civilian school and I'm a civilian, but the course is pretty much the same stuff most, if not all, branches of the military use to teach their Aviation Mechanics. But here's a question from a test I just took this week, enjoy;
If the hydraulic system pressure is normal while the engine driven pump is running, but there is no pressure after the engine has been shut off, it indicates
A- no air pressure in the accumulator.
B- the system relief valve setting is too high.
C- the pressure regulator is set too high.

I have no idea what that question means, but I'm gonna go with letter B

It's a question about a Hydraulic pump on an aircraft with turbine engines, I know how you feel, i felt completely lost when we started that section. Anyone else want to give it a shot?

isnt Presidential Guard a billet when you reenlist?
Presidential guard is a "B" billet. You would either be at Camp David, Quantico or the White House. How tall are you?

By the way, the correct answer is A.

By the way, the correct answer is A.
Ugh I should've gone with my first instinct. Oh well. I knew it wasn't C...and my first instinct was A...but I kept going through A and B thinking about it and finally settled on B. Oops

I'm 6' 1/2". My recruiter also said that it would be guaranteed to me when I sign my contract. I thought no mos was guaranteed? I'm confused bout this mos stuff. I'll ask my recruiter to lay it all out and i'll keep you all updated.
Yeah, This is the billet my Recruiter got for me. I am only 5'11 so maybe its close enough to sneak by on 6 feet even when wearing boots.

Now what is a "Yankee White" clearance? Is it what I think it is? (Being an American born full blooded Caucasian?) Meaning that those who are of other races need not apply?
Phonectic alphabet. White or Whiskey is the "W" Yankee is the "Y"
Look it up after you get down off your horse.

Yeah, that's it. The Marine Corps is a racist military organization, if you're not white I don't know why you're even DEPing in. Your options are very limited.
Yankee white is just another security clearance, about the same as a "Top Secret" clearance. It is specifically for people working with the President. It requires a Single Scope Background Investigation by the DoD.
