There's a lot of stuff here about the Island, and I've been scouring through anything I can get my hands.
I don't see much about MCT. Does anyone have any information on that for us non-infantry poolees? Any information on US Army Military Police School (where I was told I would be headed for my MP school)?

A lot of us didn't do MCT - was no such thing when we went through. OK, "younger" Marines................somebody tell us what it's like.
Does it last as long as bootcamp? Is it just a "turbo charged" version of bootcamp? Where do you go for it? After MCT, do you go to your MOS school or what?

Well, MCT is pretty much a mini version of bootcamp on crack. It's 3 weeks long, and you soend 17 of those days in the field trainig. You're at the rear only when you first get there for indocking and when you're done. You sleep in sleeping bags in a squadbay type deal when you're at Camp Devil Dog (east-coast) and in a hanger type deal when you're at the range. At the range there's no showers, and is porter-johns all the way through. I had a blast cause it's like being in bootcamp as a Marine. The combat instructors I had where awesome, and if you're good they'll tell you a joke or two. You get to fire new weapons and learn about others. Hope this helped, if any questions should come up, let me know.

Thanks for the info, can't wait.
Gotta get through the island first, though. Ship out 14 May.
Then hopefully OCS next summer

I can't even remembering it lasting three weeks, time flew when we weren't drawing/returning gear or rifles or other admin crap. I think some training was cut out and we were rushed through to get us out of there before Christmas. I went through MCT in December '97. Nothing like waking up to a frost-covered sleeping bag. No hangars or squad bays, just the ground or some little wood hooches when we were at the place we got classroom-type instruction.
