Marines hosting Battle Color Ceremony

By: North County Times -

MIRAMAR MARINE CORPS AIR STATION -- A free public ceremony featuring some of the top musical, precision drill and marching talent in the Marine Corps is scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station.

The performers will appear at the Marine Corps Battle Color Ceremony, which takes its name from The Battle Color, official flag of the Marine Corps. The performers include the Marine Corps Color Guard, the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and the Silent Drill Platoon, each of which is assigned to the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C., described by Marine officials as the oldest post in the Marine Corps.

Spectators may enter the base by taking the Miramar Way exit off I-15 to the East Gate or by taking the Miramar Road exit off I-15 to the North Gate. Miramar officials say they plan to have event signs that will direct spectators to the performance site at the station's parade deck across from the O'Club.
