hey there fellas! i'm doing a report on the 5th Regiment, 1st Division sniper platoon in Vietnam, and was wondering if anyone here served with them. If so, can you please reply or e-mail me? i've got to be the only guy in Texas who is obsessed with the USMC Scout/Snipers! I cant find anyone so far :'(

Ya like to read? Even if ya don't like to read, look at the POOL-ee Hall forums and Marine Mentor forum. What yer looking for has been posted there.
The other has already been addressed as I understand it.

I was a sniper with 2nd battalion 5th marines in the 80's sorry kiddo can't help ya much. I guess try lookin thru some of the profiles look for names like 8541, longshot, deadbolt, hogstooth etc. etc.

hey, thats ok! i just need some information on sniping. Stuff on training, weapons statistics... whatever is in the field manuel, since i, sadly, can not get ahold of one :(

What? Even places ya can get those damn manuals.
You don't need to worry about scout/sniper anything until you become a Marine. First things first, boy.
