From what I understand, there's over 150 jobs in the marine corps. Is it me, or are the majority of men in the marine corps enlisted into infantry? How much of a say do you get in this? Also, what did you do when enlisted (or if your currently enlisted)

There are many jobs in the Marine Corps. Most Marines are not Grunts. But many of the more motivated poolees tend to go tha direction, which may be why so many of them are here.

I was a radio guy (06 field now). We have a mix of everything here from supply to recon.

I'm not sure how it is now, but when I enlisted you got to pick from 3 job fields and then the Corps picked your actual MOS. For me it was 7200 field which was determined in boot camp, and then my 7242 MOS was assigned once I got to the MOS school. 7200 was my first field choice, and I had no choice at all in the final MOS. 7242 was/is a great MOS - a lot of responsibility for NCO's and a good variety of skills to learn.

I started as 0311, enlisted for that...then lateral moved to 0231 Intelligence!

When I came back as a re-tread in '97, was a 2531..Field Radio Operator, eventually got back to 0231 again.

There are lots of different jobs out there, not just Infantry.

I was a 2673 Cryptologic Linguist - Korean and a 2649 Cryptanalyst. Lots of different MOS options out there, but we are all Marines and Marine riflemen. The Infantry is the central focus, with the rest of the jobs built around supporting them either directly (like armor, artillery & air wing) or through various other means like finding them enemies to eliminate, transporting them, feeding them, arming them, etc. etc. It all starts with the 03 field and builds from there.

I was an 0321 but without the other 149 jobs in the Marine Corps we couldn't accomplish our mission.
