View Full Version : What's wrong with President Bush??????????

What the heck is wrong with President Bush, or his administration, when 55 REPUBLICAN Congressmen sign a letter asking him why two Border Patrol agents are being sent to prison for nothing more than doing their job, and no one in the administration from Bush on down even dignifies their concern with a response?

One of three of the signers that Lou Dobbs interviewed on CNN this evening commented that when Clinton was president, he could call with any question that came to mind, and someone, sometimes Clinton himself, would always return his call with an answer or explanation even if it wasn't what he wanted to hear.

So why doesn't Bush respond to 55 Congressmen of his own party? The only advice I can give Bush is, the First Law of Holes states that when you're in one, stop digging.

My rant for the day.

That's a damn good question! Where is Bush on this one? For that matter, where is he on the boarder invasion?

To ignore the Boarder Agents and the senseless conviction (they deserve a pardon) is no less then to honor the scum sucking drug runner.

The question is not guilt or innocence, the question is why won't Bush respond to 55 members of his own party.

What ever happened to what General Butler wanted to do ? "Let's build up a national defense so tight that even a rat couldn't crawl through!"

What do we get, a frigging moron digging a hole and running the country into it.

Bush runs a tight ship. He is at the helm. He doesn't want to hear any advice from Congress (your voice and representation in government). He will decide the course of the ship even if it is headed into an iceberg.

Ok so lets all blame Bush for something that never should have even happened to begin with. I sincerely believe that the CIC will pardon these two agents in due course. But this travesty of justice never should have been heard by a judge to begin with. There are many filthy hands in this case and none of them are in the executive branch of the government! Anyone ever heard of the ACLU or Socialist Democratic Party? Lets hear a minority point of view from a guy that says we dont need new immigration laws only a government that will enforce the existing ones.

Tancredo Labels Border Patrol Imprisonment an Injustice

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Representative Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today said on the former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean reporting to prison to serve their 23 combined years in prison for shooting Mexican drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete Davila in the buttocks.

“If I were in the Oval Office, this travesty would not be taking place,” said Tancredo, Chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus. “Instead, it would be Osvaldo Aldrete Davila serving time for repeatedly smuggling drugs into the United States and violating our border laws.”

Ramos and Compean reported to prison today at 3 p.m. EST after Judge Cardone denied the agent’s request to remain free during the appeals process. Ramos was sentenced to 11 years, while Compean was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Tancredo concluded, “The current administration allowed the use of their resources to track down a drug dealer living in Mexico to testify against our own Border Patrol agents. This injustice should have been stopped well before a presidential pardon was being demanded.”

I hope that you are right on the pardon Jim. I do however, think that the Pres could have tightened the screws on this case and we would not have Boarder Agents going to jail for doing their job.

The Border Agents were also convicted up trying to cover up the shooting (http://www.kfoxtv.com/news/10778157/detail.html).

Maybe the President is asking "Why would these two would try to cover up a shooting?" The Judge and Jury certainly asked that question.

I can see the problem with the agents' failure to report the shooting, but 11 and 12 years for that? Something more is up that isn't coming out. Why did the drug smugglers' mother even know anyone in the Border Patrol to complain to? Why is it we can find this guy to testify when we can't catch anyone else? Why was this guy allowed to walk when he was caught a SECOND time smuggling drugs? Is his immunity life long?

And, for Gawd sake, child molesters only get 3-5 years in jail in this country. At least these two guys were doing something productive!! Too many tall trees and short rope going to waste in this country. If we want justice, we may have to do it ourselves!

Unfortunatley our country is so liberal minded that the cops cant do their jobs anymore.
The Honorable Mr. Bush cant do anything bold without upsetting the precarious balance he needs to run the country.
It is a fine line he has to tread. Perhaps he needs to get things done right now and thinks he cant take chances.
I fear he will not get anything done as long as he is President because they want him to fail so bad.
Sorry to say but we may need a Democrat President before the country can get back to business. It would likely be an embarasement to them but at least the Dems would put their minds back to work. The way I see it a Republican President would likely inherit their unfounded wrath by default.

How about this solution to the drug smuggling "Eliminate the market, and Legalize Marijuana" Make people take a class and show them what it does to you first then let em at it.

Maybe that is a wild idea but it would likely eliminate the biggest border problem. Let legitimate mexican business men export it to us, tax the hell out of it to pay for more border security.

1. He was shot in the a$$

2. He is now suing the government for his pain and suffering.

Now, here is my take on this situation:

I really must say at this point in time Bush is a biggot. His press release stating how the courts tried the two officers and that's what the courts are for. When I hear this statement it brings to mind when not too long ago he was upset at the courts for ruling in favor of gay marriage and the courts were using it's power to rewrite laws.

I just wonder why don't they send this drug dealor to Guantanomo and keep him away from U.S. law and end this.

I think we need to hire those female security guards from up in Canada that nailed that attempted robber 4 times, one of the shots gave him a partial vasectomy.
Line the border with drug dealers hanging from trees( oh I forgot, scaffolds) and the problem would cease; at least from the tree ornaments!

I'm told there are thousands and thousands of WW II vintage M-1 Garands, still in Cosmoline; crated.
I say, un-crate all of them, and fix bayonets! Afix steel plates to the top of concrete pylons, and weld the M-1 butt plates to the top of the pylons...bayonets up!
Catch an illegal on this side of the border....give 'em a "bayonet enemma" 'til the point sticks out the top of their skull! And you're right, DW. Just leave 'em there to rot. Rather grim, but it sends a real clear message!

20,000,000 illegals in America, here to do 'jobs
We won't do'.

Everyday, 12 Americans die at the hands of illegals-DUI's, murder, etc.
12x365= 4,380 dead Americans per year.

One smuggler shot in the ass.......who cares?

Too bad the Border Agents tried to actually do their jobs....federal employees
should just put in their 20 and retire. Why raise the bar for the next guy?

Still, 11 and 12 years, respectively? Fire the bastids, don't throw them in jail-the part about bringing a known drug dealer INTO the country to testify against them frosts my a$$. While it "may" or "may not" have been a bad shoot, the entire thing has been handled in a **** damn poor manner. This is so typical of our screwed up system, in that we are more concerned with navel gazing and worrying about illegal aliens 'rights' than we are with two guys on the road, at the pointy end of the stick, trying to do their jobs.

I'm personally disgusted with the President over this, and, truth be told, have lost alot of respect I once had. NOT because he won't pardon them, but because he didn't even bother to look at the case until the political pressure has reached the boiling point. I think he's more worried about political correctness, and kissing the hindquarters of the mexican gummint, than he is with his own people.

Folks, sad to say, this is only gonna get worse. :(

I wholly agree about the border and I am totally disgusted with the Bush man over that. However, muslims have hated us long before either Bush was in office. First, take our troops and shut down the border in iraq-let them straighten out whatever the fu*k they want to do. Then bring our troops home and put them in bases along the border, create a DMZ on the Rio Grande and then extend it to the Pacific. Establish a visitor worker program and then start rounding up every other illegal, their families and whoever else is with them and dump them back across the border(irregardless of nationality). Any company guilty of hiring illegals immediately forfeits all its' holdings to the gov. (like the RICO program). No more "baby anchors" for illegals. A child born in this country to illegals is "fruit of the poisonous tree", issue of an illegal act-NOT A CITIZEN!
As long as the memory of slick willy exists, Bush will never be the worst president.

...worst president since Bill Clinton.Let's ponder that for a moment...
Has President Bush been linked to the mysterious suicide of a "friend"? (Vince Foster)
Has he been linked to real estate scandal in his home state? (Whitewater)
Has he lied under oath to a grand jury? (Perjury would get any Serviceman or woman Court Martailled, yet the former CNC got away with it. So much for the rule of law.)
Has he embarrassed himself and his wife by having oral sex with an intern? (Remember the infamous "...that depends on what the mean of is is..."?)
Has any of our embassies been subjected to terrorist attacks and he paid lipservice to getting the culprits? (Our Embassy in Kenya, Clinton paid lipservice to bringing the terrorists to justice)
Has he ordered military strikes just to draw attention away from the sex scandal? (Bosnia-Herzegovenia)
Has any of the ships of our navy been attacked by terrorists (Remember the USS Cole another instance where Clinton only paid lipservice to catching the terrorists.)I think I left a few things out.

I'm not exactly thrilled by our prolonged involvement in Iraq either, but at least President Bush has made good on his promise to get the terrorists that attacked us on 9/11. That's more than I can say about Clinton.
