US raid on Iran's consulate a terrorist act:
Elham Tehran, Jan 15, IRNA

Iran-US-Elham
Government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham here Monday described the US raid on Iran's consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil as an "act of terrorism".

Elham was speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing.

"The raid on Iran's consulate, destruction of documents and taking of its diplomats as hostages were against international laws and conventions establishing diplomatic immunity for
representatives of sovereign states," he said.

He said the US conducted the raid as a psychological war against the Islamic Republic of Iran to make it appear that its power was overwhelming. The plot, he added, has been disclosed.

"Today, the world knows that the US and the Zionist regimes are the most dangerous regimes for peoples of the world."
He cited the US infiltration of Iraq and the danger it is posing to the region, the raid by US forces of the Iranian consulate in Erbil and the problem caused by US marines to a Japanese oil tanker as recent examples of its ever-present danger to international peace and security.

"If US leaders, including President George W Bush, feel endangered by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, such a feeling can only be explained by their inherent opposition to just, peaceful and humane administrations," Elham said.

The spokesman said that Ahmadinejad only propagates "the message of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, which is the message of monotheism, peace and justice."
